Description

Through this autism recognition, response, and risk management conference, law enforcement and first responders will:

  • learn to recognize the behavioral symptoms and characteristics of a child or adult who has autism
  • learn about the high risks associated with autism
  • acquire basic response techniques
  • review strategies, current trends, and specialized tactics for addressing risks, increasing officer and citizen safety, and avoiding litigation

Presenters:

Dr. Jack Scott, FAU CARD Executive Director

Dennis Debbaudt, Autism Risk Management CEO, International Trainer of Law Enforcement and First Responders, and father of an adult son with autism

Lt. Bart Barta, retired law enforcement commander from the Coral Gables Police Department, certified law enforcement instructor, and father of a teenage son with autism

This is a free event intended for law enforcement, fire-rescue, emergency-medical response, criminal/juvenile justice professionals. Registration will be from 7:30 - 8:00 a.m.
