Event description

Description

Award-winning Fathia Vineyards invites you to experience a taste of Sonoma by Executive Chef Jon Sodini of Bon Appetit at Stanford University. This six-course dinner features winemaker Fausta Franco-Guerrero’s handpicked wines and Chef Sodini’s farm-to-table California cuisine. We will begin the meal with a wild-caught California sea bass crudo paired with a crisp 2015 Mendocino Viognier and end with a sumptuous goat milk cheesecake graced with local honey and an elegant 2013 Muscat Canelli.

A percentage of proceeds will be donated to our Sonoma friends and neighbors who have been affected by the recent wildfires through the RAWW Network. Celebrate the start of the holiday season while giving back to one of California’s best winemaking regions!

About the Winemaker

Fausta Franco-Guerrero is one of the most prominent Latina winemakers in Sonoma. Her 2011 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon was rated excellent (91 points) by Wine Enthusiast and awarded a Platinum by the Sommelier Challenge. Fausta has been recognized by USA Today, NBC Bay Area, California Winery Advisor, The Sonoma Index-Tribune, and other publications for her advocacy as a third-generation Latina winemaker.

Fausta crafts high-quality wines in the old-world style: hand-sorted fruit, manual punch downs, and aged in new French oak. She employs sustainable vineyard practices, citing the importance of preserving the region’s distinctive terroir.

About the Chef

Executive Chef Jon Sodini’s elegant creations have graced the plates of former president Barack Obama, Al Gore, and countless dignitaries and celebrities. He was classically trained at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Portland.

About the RAWW Network

RAWW© (Real Authentic Women Wellness) creates welcoming spaces for women to address the issues of mental health, spiritual wellness, and physical well-being. Organized events called RAWWTalks allow women to interface with health professionals without the stigma of being judged for discussing culturally sensitive issues.

Visit The Fathia Vineyards Tasting Room

Fathia Vineyards is located in Kenwood, an unincorporated region of Sonoma county. The critically acclaimed wines are handcrafted on a ten-acre estate, which luckily escaped major damage from the recent wildfires.

The tasting room is open from Thursday thru Monday from noon to 5PM. Treat yourself to a truffles and wine pairing or plan an intimate gathering for a larger group.
