Special Screening: Father Unknown + Live Q&A with Cast & Creators

Join us for a powerful and entertaining evening as we screen Father Unknown - a funny, honest and moving film about young fatherhood, made in collaboration with North East Young Dads and Lads and Newcastle University.

The story follows Alfie, who finds out he's going to be a dad during GCSE Geography. Up until now, Alfie's world has revolved around cans of Monster, dodging school, and Xbox marathons - but everything is about to change. Fast.

Originally developed as a theatre production, this screening marks a new chapter for Father Unknown as part of DigiDAD - the UK’s only digital platform made by and for young dads.

After the screening, stay for a live Q&A with the cast, creative team, and young dads who helped bring the story to life.

Booking essential. Limited seats available.

Please note: This film is suitable for ages 16+. It contains adult themes and strong language throughout.

NEYDL started life in 2015 with a simple brief: to find out what, if anything, could be done to support young dads (aged under 25) who live, work or study in the North East of England. At the time, there was no blueprint for this work, so as experienced youth workers we went out and met young men on their terms and figured things out together.

Ten years on and NEYDL is charity in its own right, reaching over 200 young dads per year and spending on average 48 hours with each young person we meet.

Free support for all young dads can be found on our innovative e-learning platform digidad
