“Fashion Photography Knowledge”

The Photographer

An artist who brings life to our words. The images are tools for a complicated storyteller. The shooter comes with knowledge, experience, style and gains from our research with a willingness to collaborate.

Fashion Photography

A Celebration of Edward Steichen, the World’s First Fashion Photographer

“A recent gift to the Whitney Museum of American Art brings a collection of Edward Steichen’s early fashion work for Condé Nast to New York City.

In 1911, Lucien Vogel, an influential French magazine publisher, proposed that photographer Edward Steichen promote fashion photography as fine art … or so the story goes”.

www.thedailybeast.com/a-celebration-of-edward-steichen-the-worlds-first-fashion-photographer?ref=scroll

If this slice of history is true, the entire machinery of couture, fashion and apparel should be eternally grateful. Likewise, the countless persons, companies and place that have had successes with shows, books and framed multiples could give their thanks as well.

Fine Art Photography

For those who have strolled through studios, galleries and museums, there could often be something of a double hit when you try to distinguish between fashion photography and fine art photography

Our Story

The Fashion Media Project was a research project for five years before it was described in a keynote presentation at a conference in 2013. In 2018, the first formal description was released and 2019 is the official launch year.

Anthology - A Guide For Continuous Improvement

Like many others, we have found that presenting our case for development and growth works better when we employ the many tools and processes of modern, integrated storytelling. Our narrative is delivered in twenty-one sections. Section 6 is devoted to Fashion Photography Knowledge.

Photography As Illustration

The twenty-one sections we are now preparing will include masterful photographic images.

Gallery Exhibit - The New Season

To launch the “New Season” for the arts in California, our first gallery presentation is in September 2019. The one or more artists included in the Guide will have a chance to see their work on the walls.

The Curator

The mastermind chosen to curate our release, will weave the workings of a book, fashion photography and gallery show together. There are approximately thirty-five individual, academic and business personalities involved.

Curation as an Essential Service of Book Publishers

Is This A Network?

We have had ten years to prepare for our launch. The daily Information Exchange brings together Project supporters, local, national and international events, solid, well-respected Organizations and companies that make all the other parts work well together. Schools and industry awareness make sure there is a constant replenishing of design, innovation and sparkling competition. Are we in this mix?

Partners

We are finally open to consider the first candidates.

Global Impact

In Fashion Communications around the world, we know the spotlight turns to our work immediately after the first steps in developing original couture. Live events, in-studio fittings, runway shows and even Fashion Weeks give way to fashion books, magazines and brilliant photography.
