About this Event

This is a series of collaborative events between #FASHHACK & Farfetch. At these open events you will have the opportunity to engage with the Farfetch Community and the wider Fashion Tech ecosystem on a range of burning industry topics.

Every new generation changes the fashion industry in some way, but the impact of Gen Z will be significant. As a generation born with iPhones in hand, the Zs are playing differently, learning differently and growing differently. As a result, they’re going to engage differently, work differently, and buy differently.

Brands and retailers need to think about how Gen Z is driving the innovation agenda today, and how they can adapt to the rapidly changing landscape of the fashion industry.

Zoe Wong, Director at Depop

With almost a decade of e-Commerce & fashion retail experience, Zoe is a finance & operations specialist within high growth digital platforms. Zoe is currently a director at Depop, the cult Gen-Z ‘social shopping’ app popular with 16m+ global users – most under 25. During her time at Depop, the company has grown over 500% and raised $90m+ in funding, landing her a place on the Forbes “30 under 30” list.

Kirsty Emery-Laws, Co- Founder of Unmade

Kirsty Emery-Laws is the Co-founder and Chief Customer Success Officer of Unmade, where she channels her expertise in production and delivery to help customers to get the most from Unmade’s innovative software technology. She started Unmade in 2013 alongside Hal Watts and Ben Alun-Jones. Prior to Unmade, she was a designer for Aganovich, where she collaborated on collections that have been sold in a number of well-known stockists, including Dover Street Market, Joyce, and Blake.

Katie Baron, Head of Retail at Stylus.com

Katie Baron is a journalist, author & futurist who specialises in defining and predicting the intersections between technology, pop culture and consumer behaviours. An inaugural member of London College of Fashion’s Digital Anthropology Laboratory think-tank, she’s currently Head of Retail – Trends, Insights & Innovation – at trends intelligence service Stylus, and contributes to Forbes on the topics of retail innovation and brand culture. She’s also authored two books on visual culture - Stylists: New Fashion Visionaries and Fashion + Music: Fashion Creatives Shaping Pop Culture.

Louise Barr, Senior Customer Research Manager at Farfetch

Louise leads the market research team at Farfetch, ensuring that the business understands who our customers are, what they want, and whether Farfetch is living up to their expectations. With seven years’ cumulative experience in research, her team combine quantitative and qualitative methodologies to ensure the consumer is at the heart of Farfetch’s strategy.

Carol Hilsum, Director of Innovation at Farfetch

Carol's role includes managing Dream Assembly - a Fashion and Retail tech accelerator for high potential startups and managing strategic future innovation partnerships. Previous to her time at Farfetch, Carol has spent many years in the fashion industry in senior roles building products and running growth strategies for companies like NET-A-PORTER and Topshop. She also works with fashion startups, such as The Modist, as a consultant and mentor.
