Event description

Description

DUE TO THE EXPECTED SNOWSTORM ON JAN 20th, THIS WORKSHOP HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 24th.

Bring your passion for fashion and costume to a relaxed mixed media drawing workshop lab. Explore sketching clothes on the figure from photographs, drawings, garments, and imagination. Combine drawing techniques and collage! Apply glitter, fabric and scrapbook bits, colored pencil, and crayons, markers, watercolor, and cut or torn paper. Invent your dream collection, draw from favorite retro styles, or sketch from real shoes, gloves, or hats! Play with personal and expressive use of proportion, technique, and other fundamentals.

$79 workshop fee does not include materials.

Fashion Drawing supply list: General paper for drawing, sketching: recommend Strathmore 14 x 17 inch 400 series pad (inexpensive, versatile). Materials you enjoy drawing with and combining: markers, crayons, colored pencil, and watercolor set AND/OR inexpensive ones, such as Crayola brand and Artist Loft brand (pencil and eraser only if you need). Collage materials, various remnant papers of any kind you like -- fancy paper, recycled paper, magazines printouts, old book pages, fabric bits, string /yarn /glitter, old photos, scrapbook materials, etc. Scissors, Xacto blade, glue stick. Bring a shoe/shoes, accessories, and/or garment to draw. Bring images you print out from online or books with images to use as reference, or magazine tear sheets. Optional: tracing paper 14 x 17 inch.

We will have an hour break for lunch between Noon-1pm. Bring your own lunch or check out one of the local restaurants in the area.
