Students spend a week with fashion professionals, Germaine Caprio (Majamas) and Pam Penney (Pamela Penney Textile Arts) learning the art and craft of Fashion Design.
Working with Ms. Caprio they will develop their “line”. They will learn the design process from inspiration to costing the line by designing and drawing sketches for 7-10 garment “flats”. Then comes fabric selections and costing their designs. Ms. Penney will guide the students through the creation of one of their garment designs by either draping or drafting a flat pattern. The students will dye 3 yards of fabric and cut, sew and embellish their unique art to wear garment at Pamela Penney’s studio. All of this in time for the Friday Afternoon Fashion Show for Family and Friends!
