This event will create an empowering and rewarding experience for attendees, allowing them to explore the industry through discussion in a social environment.The three-part event will kick off with a catered meet and greet reception, followed by a discussion from our panelist and the cities hottest fashion show to feature the fall and winter trends. Meet style icons and experience the fun that is usually reserved for fashion insiders.
This conference will provide a platform to connect with powerful industry leaders and others working in the industry, top brands, bloggers, and fashion lovers. In addition to meeting your favorite bloggers and networking with people with similar interests, there is an abundance of information and resources that can be gained and accessed at this event.
The goal of this event is to provide opportunities and knowledge for the attendees, while serving as a unique opportunity for the sponsored brands to reach a trendsetting audience.
Graduating from Howard University with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism, Britt Nelson is a photojournalist living in Washington D.C. She specializes in photographically capturing and sharing the creative essence of individuals as they display their unique street style fashions throughout the District. Her street style fashion column is featured weekly at BrightestYoungThings.com. and her photographs have also been displayed in GQ!
Diti Bhasin of Diti Devi Makeup Artistry (www.DitiDevi.com) is a DC based self-taught makeup artist. With over five years of experience in editorial, wedding, and special event makeup. Her work has been well received by clients across the country. More notably she currently works with The W Washington and Elite DC Mag. Diti has also started a nonprofit, Makeup on aMission (www.MakeuponaMission.org ), to benefit women by teaching them how to look and feel their best.
After studying fashion at the University of Southern Carolina, Kimee Brown, has worked as a Womenswear manager with luxury department stores and small boutiques, various fashion media sites, an assistant fashion editor for wari magazine, and is now currently the fashion director of neonV magazine. She has also assisted in the production of several shows for New York fashion week including Alexander Wang, Karen Walker, J. Mendel, and Diesel Gold Collections.
Due to his growing popularity and innovative techniques, David Thompson is becoming one of DC’s highly recognized hair stylist. He can be described as a passionate “artist” and “craftsman” with hair. David has studied and mastered techniques taught by the leading academies, such as Aveda, Redken, Schwartzkopf, Framesi , Paul Mitchell, Vidal Sasson and many others. David continues to keep up with the latest trends and techniques. He firmly believes in continuing education and puts his own twist of mastering the art and taking it to another level. Jackie Hart is a long time Shaw neighborhood homeowner and entrepreneur. She is president of SINGA, Inc., nonprofit apparel, textile design and entrepreneur training program. Jackie has been a member of the Manna Board of Directors since 1998.
The Fashion & Bloggers Conference will be held at a luxury resort style club room with Wi-Fi, a pool table and an entertainment bar. The location also features a resort-style outdoor pool, a pool house and grilling area with cabanas. This prime location is steps away from the metro and other forms of transportation.
