Event description

Description

Studies funded by NIH found that 2-5% of first graders had an FASD, but less than 1% were diagnosed. Approximately 20% of youth in juvenile justice and 17% of kids in foster care have an FASD. Schools struggle with behavior problems that are the result of FASD. While these data focus on children, prenatal effects of alcohol on the brain are life long and affect adult populations, as well. In this training you will learn to recognize and intervene with cases of FASD and be able to help prevent future cases.
