FASB Changes to Accounting Standards! Is Your Nonprofit Ready?

For the first time in 20 years, there are significant changes in the way nonprofit organizations are required to prepare and present financial statements. Issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board in August 2016, these changes will help nonprofits tell their financial story more effectively, make financial statements more useful to readers and provide more consistency between reporting organizations. Join us as we discuss the key facets of this important update to help you make sure your nonprofit is prepared for the coming changes.

Key Takeaways:

  • Five Primary Areas of Change to Prepare For (1. Net Asset Classification, 2. Expense Classification, 3. Investments, 4. Liquidity Information, 5. Cash Flow Statements)
  • FASB Standards Update
  • Understanding of the Fundamental Changes to Accounting Standards
  • When FASB Changes go into Effect
