The annual Farragut High School Technology Gala will be on Saturday, January 28th, 2017 from 6:30PM until 10:30PM at Rothchild Event Center. Local celebrities will emcee the event and live auction. The BLACK TIE AND BLUE JEAN event is restricted to people 21 years of age and over. The event will raise money to upgrade the school’s technology through the acquisition of new computers, educational software, implementation of a 1:1 device initiative for all students, an electronic marquee at the entrance of Farragut High School, modernization of the library, replace incompatible and/or older technology, widescreen projection systems in classrooms and the auditorium. Our goal for this year is raise $75,000... We cannot do this without your help.
Unfortunately, the technology in our school is aging and showing wear from several years of heavy use. While other schools qualify for federal funding to purchase technology, FHS relies on the help of the community. Without your assistance, our students will suffer as they will not be able to compete academically on a national level. Farragut High School is the top performing school in Knox County Schools and a top 500 high school according to Newsweek. In August 2015, Farragut High School was honored to be named a Tennessee Reward School for the third year in a row, which means that our students consistently perform in the top 5-percent of high schools statewide. Our goal is to provide a cart of tablets, laptops, or other devices in every classroom. This will allow students daily access to tools for collaboration, distance learning, research, and many other resources.
For our event to be successful, we are asking for your support in attendance, donation, and sponsorship. How would you like to serve the FHS community?
