About this event
Join Full Moon Farm and Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture for a coaching session with Lloyd Robinson of Music City GOATA! The purpose of the GOATA (Greatest Of All Time Athletes) training method to realign your body's movement patterns for pain relief, increased mobility, and long term physical health. The session will focus specifically on farmer-oriented movements and pain patterns such as: walking long distances, squatting, lifting, carrying totes, driving a tractor, leaning over a pack table, plus anything you'd like to include as an area of concern.
GOATA is an evidence-based movement system developed from observations of multi-decade super athletes, indigenous tribes, young children, and nature. The GOATA exercises aim to train and reinforce optimal movement patterns into the nervous system. Using specific corrective exercises and lifestyle adjustments we aim to recode the body back into nature's blueprint. Moving this way creates less wear on joints and connective tissue so you can enjoy activities/work you love with less pain. With dedication, learned movement patterns will change and practitioners can become stronger, faster, and pain free.
Learn more about the GOATA method here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0WmzQOJfU0 - thanks to Ann Hoang for the great video!
Participants should bring comfortable clothes for moving in, water, and their questions about pain relief! Mats will be provided.
This session is limited to ten participants, so please remember to register in advance. If you register and are unable to make the session for any reason, please let us know so we can offer someone else an opportunity to attend.
Optional add on: participants can pay $10 to participate in a once a week group online support class for a total of 4 weeks, to continue their postural and mobility training.
