Farmer-Chef Speed Sourcing Happy Hour Volunteering!
Be the change you want to see in the local food system! Rub elbows with the region's best chefs and farmers!
Volunteer at the 5th Annual Farmer-Chef Speed Sourcing Happy Hour!
Somewhere between sorority rush chairman and middle school dance chaperone, your job is to make sure the farmers and chefs mix and mingle. They will all have "match cards" indicating the farmers or chefs who want what they grow or grow what they want. But some folks will need a little help finding those matches in a crowded room. Your mission: to make sure there are no wallflowers and that everyone has a good time.
We'll gather at 2 pm -- 2 hours before the event -- to set up, sort match cards, hang banners, and go over the details.
Guests arrive at 4 pm. You'll help check them in and start linking faces and names.
Then you hit the floor for two hours, connecting chefs and farmers based on their printed match cards and the conversations that you've had at check in.
The event ends at 6, and we should be out by 7.
It's a holiday so street parking is open, but it's also metro accessible.
Want in? We need 20!
