Farm to School: Starting a School Garden

Are you a teacher, educator, principal, or engaged community member interested in starting a school garden? Farm to School links schools and local farms with the goals of serving healthy meals in school, improve student food options, educate students, and support local and regional farmers. This two part workshop and training will cover soil health, soil testing, resources, planting basics, gardening information, and networking.
Join us on March 10th for information on starting a school garden, focusing on soil and resources. Learn about the importance of soil health, learn to take a soil test, and about different community resources. Come to network with other school gardens!
Join us on April 7th for information on starting a school garden, focusing on planting and the basics. Learn about gardening basics, including garden planning, planting, and more. Bring your garden ideas to share and network with other school gardens!
These events are free of charge, but require registration. The workshops are part of the UDSA Farm to School grant, in partnership with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health. Teachers can receive contact hours for this event.
