Description
Join us for hands on learning and fun for all with demonstrations, artisan vendors, great food, and Farm Tours! Beekeeping, Soil Health and composting, Seeds, Shmita learning for kids, Pickles and more!
Enjoy the intersection of food, sustainability and Jewish Life as we honor the Shmita Year! A program by the Jewish Alliance for Food, Land and Justice to educate, preserve, and celebrate a sustainable, local and values-based food system.
All are welcome, regardless of religious affiliation. Admission is Free, pre-registration is appreciated!
Highlights:
Shuttles to Green Things Farm leave from the Botanic Garden with narrated tours
10:15am "Jubilee for You and Me" a simulation-game to experience the Shmita cycle that culminates in the Jubilee, led by Lauren Zinn and two students. Children of all ages welcome with an adult, age 12 and older may participte without parents.
12:15-1:15 Ann Arbor Reskilling will present "Backyard Chickens"
1:30-2PM Jane Pacheco of ICPJ will lead a book discussion on Faith and Food.
