Far From Moscow Festival: Film, Icebreaker
A film based on actual events in 1985. A massive iceberg moves towards the icebreaker ‘Mikhail Gromov.’ Hoping to avoid disaster, the ship is forced in an ice floe and trapped. The crew is imprisoned by ice––for 133 days of the Arctic night. Their attempts to break free are constant. Even if escape is possible, there’s nowhere to go. One final attempt is planned, with zero room for error. One mistake, and the floe will crush both the Gromov and its crew.
