Event description

Description

St. Petersburg has a long and rich history of aviation, including the well-known first commercial flight in 1914. But in addition to this accomplishment, the airport that functioned on Weedon Island during the early 20th century also led to momentous firsts for flight in St. Pete. Join us for a talk from Will Michaels, President of the 2014 Flight Board and member of the Florida Aviation Historical Society on both the historic 1914 flight and the Grand Central Airport at Weedon Island.

This talk is recommended for adults and youths ages 14+.
