NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, 8-session education program for family, partners & friends of adults living with mental health issues.

About this event

NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, 8-session education program for family, friends and significant others of adults with mental health conditions. NAMI Family-to-Family provides information about anxiety, depressive disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and other mental health conditions. Other topics covered include communication, problem solving, treatment and recovery. The course is designed to increase understanding and advocacy skills while helping participants maintain their own well-being. The program is taught by trained family members who have a loved one with a mental health condition. NAMI Family-to-Family is an evidence-based program (EB).   • Class 1: Introduction to NAMI Family-to-Family
  • Class 2: Understanding Mental Health Conditions and Preparing for Crisis
  • Class 3: Getting a Mental Health Diagnosis and Sharing Our Stories
  • Class 4: Overview of Mental Health Conditions
  • Class 5: Treatment Options
  • Class 6: Communication Skills and Problem Solving
  • Class 7: Empathy and Recovery
  • Class 8: Moving Forward

When: 8 Saturday sessions beginning April 30, 2022, through June 25, 2022. There is no session on Saturday May 7, 2022. Each Saturday session is from 10:00am – 12:30pm.
