Event description

Description

The Chinese celebrate the Moon or Mid Autumn Festival on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month by savoring the full moon, the bounty of the harvest, and delicious mooncakes. As a traditional event at the museum, we celebrate the brightest full moon of the year with families. Visitors will be able to make lanterns, hear Chinese riddles, and learn stories from our Education staff. We hope you can join us on September 23. Parking

Two-hour metered parking ($1.25 per hour with a 2-hour limit) is available in front of the museum. Independent paid parking lots are located nearby:

  • Lot 1035 (450 2nd Ave.) – $10.00 for 12 hours, $20.00 for 24 hours
  • Lot 526 (526 Island Ave.) – $15.00 for six hours, 2:30 – 8:30 p.m.
  • Park it on Market (6th and Market) – starting at $1.00 per hour
