Description

***IMPORTANT INFORMATION***

Starting April 1, 2020, and until further notice, all in-person Family Law Orientations are converting to email-only participation. We apologize for the inconvenience and wish everyone safety and good health.

Please do not come to the courthouse in person; the class is by email only. There is no "online" component, and you do not need to sign into EventBrite to access the materials. You may read the materials in the comfort of your own home on your own schedule as there is not a time limit to complete the reading, although two weeks is a recommended time frame.

If you do not have access to a computer and would like paper copies of the materials mailed to you through the US Postal Service, please send an email to famlaworientation@kingcounty.gov with your physical mailing address, and I will mail the materials to you.

Please register as you normally would for the FLO. If you are in need of a fee waiver, please email us at famlaworientation@kingcounty.gov to receive information regarding the documents required to obtain a fee waiver before you register. Please make sure your email address is correct as you will receive seminar materials via email and a copy of your certificate will be emailed to you.

Materials will be emailed on the day of your scheduled class or shortly thereafter. Please be patient as we implement this new system.

Please read all the materials carefully as they include an instruction letter that tells you how you receive your certificate of completion. When you complete the necessary steps, we will issue your certificate. A copy will be emailed to you for your personal records. The original certificate will be filed with King County Superior Court unless your case is in another jurisdiction or you do not have a case number yet.

Documents are available in English only. No translations are available.

If you have questions or concerns, please email them to famlaworientation@kingcounty.gov
