About this Event

****IMPORTANT INFORMATION****

1. All Family Law Orientation seminars are being conducted by email. Please do not go to either courthouse as classes are all taken care of electronically at this time.

  • Please check both the Kent and the Seattle locations for available classes. Classes are offered on different dates in each location. If one location is full, check the other.

2. The class materials will arrive in your email inbox on the day of the class. We are not able to send them earlier.

3. There is no online component of the class. You do not need to sign into Eventbrite at all after registering.

4. If you do not follow the directions in the letter, you will not receive a certificate of completion.

  • When you complete the necessary steps, we will issue your certificate. A copy will be emailed to you for your personal records. The original certificate will be filed with King County Superior Court unless your case is in another jurisdiction or you do not have a case number yet.

5. There is no time limit, but two weeks is the suggested time frame. Please read the documents in the comfort of your own home at a time that works for you.

6. Materials are only available in English at this time.

7. We will send printed materials to you if you do not have a computer to read the PDF documents. Please send an email requesting this along with your mailing address to famlaworientation@kingcounty.com.

8. If you need a fee waiver, please request information regarding that before you register.

9. If you have questions or concerns, please email them to famlaworientation@kingcounty.gov

Thanks!
