About Education Through Music-Los Angeles
Education Through Music-Los Angeles (ETM-LA) provides quality, yearlong, music instruction to children in majority Title 1 schools across Los Angeles schools as part of the core curriculum for every child. We come alongside low-income area schools – the children, families, and community - to combat the social justice issues they continue to face and provide solutions for academic growth, character building, and community strengthening.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, ETM-LA remains committed to maintaining our top-notch music instruction programs for our partner schools, reaching thousands of students across LA County. Our staff and music teachers have pivoted to teach virtual classes at no cost to the student and to provide robust distance learning resources. We are ensuring that students can continue receiving music education as their right and as part of the core curriculum.
Since being founded in 2006, ETM-LA has grown to serve approximately 19,000 students at 46 partner schools this 2020-21 school year.
