Reaping a Harvest in Land Records (11 am - 12:30 pm)

Many people overlook the potential huge crop of information located in land records. Most, if they look at all, will only look up the homestead. They overlook all the land the ancestor may have owned, who they bought from and who they sold to. Who were their neighbors? When an ancestor died owning land, that land had to be dispersed to someone or some ones. What kind of land did they own and did it contribute to their livelihood? We will look at a lot of this information and a brief description on meets and bounds plus chain-pulling.
