Event description
Step right up and witness the extraordinary abilities of the world’s most impressive animal athletes!

About this event

In honor of the Winter Olympics and Charles Darwin’s birthday, we are celebrating the biological adaptations that allow animals to do incredible things. Can you sprint as fast as a cheetah, jump as high as a mountain lion, or lift weights like an elephant? At this family day event you’ll be able to find out!

Put on your exercise gear and head to the museum to:

  • See and even touch some amazing animal specimens from the museum collection;
  • Meet real life snakes and salamanders from the UW’s Biodiversity Institute;
  • Play games that test your skills against nature’s most impressive animal species;
  • Make your very own gold medal as well as other fun crafts;
  • And more!

To keep all families COVID-safe, we are requiring timed-registration for this event. Click on the green “Register” button above to reserve your one-hour time slot for FREE!

Family Days are generously sponsored by Scheels in Johnstown, CO. Thanks to their support, these events are always free and open to everyone!
