About this Event

Represent Yourself and Your Community through Public Art Activity

Students and their families will explore public art in their neighborhood from murals to sculptures to the Art on Call Project. During a neighborhood walk, students and families will identify a place in their community where they would like to see public art added. Using household materials, art supplies, or recycled materials, students can research and design a small scale version of their masterpiece. This masterpiece might incorporate neighborhood history, touch on ideas of local identity and culture, or reflect the local landscape in a powerful and artistic way. What does being a Washingtonian mean to you? How can you celebrate that through public art?.
