Family Care Plan/ Casualty Assistance Workshop
Thu, November 16, 2017, 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM PST
Emergencies can happen anytime, any where, to a Service Member or someone in his/her family. This workshop is designed for Marines and their families to come in and learn what they need to do to ensure everything is in order in case something bad happens. During this workshop we will cover the requirements of the Marine Corps Order 1740.13 which mandates Marines to put in place a plan of action in order to take care of family members (born into, sworn into, married into) for whom they are responsible during their absence. It also provides resources that will assist in the completion of their Family Care Plan.
The second half of this workshop focuses on the casualty assistance process. Of course this is the last thing families want to think about, but a lack of understanding can lead to stress, confusion and scams. We will help minimize stress and confusion by providing a brief overview on the casualty notification process and benefits available, along with debunking scams in order to protect Service Members and their families.
