The Izaak Walton League invites you to join us each month to explore natural areas throughout Montgomery County. These family-focused adventures will include hands-on education, conservation activities – and fun! Best of all, our FAN Club events are FREE.
Come walk through a field of sunflowers! McKee-Beshers Wildlife Management Area (WMA) is a 2,000-acre area along River Road that is filled with wildlife and an amazing mixture of woodlands, fields, and wetlands. However, they are most noted for their 30-acre sunflower fields. We will be led on a hike by the WMA’s park ranger that will take us through the sunflower fields during their peak blooming time and through other interesting parts of the park.
