Fall 2015 Workshop Series: Preparing for Investment
Investors are flooded with opportunities: How do they prioritize and make decisions? What are they looking for in a venture? And how can you develop a business strategy around your idea that is both fundable and successful? At the same time, how do YOU choose the best investors for your company? What should you demand in terms of added-value from your investors? How do you decide between a small raise and a big raise? What makes a great syndicate? And how should you think about valuation? You will learn the critical information to include in a pitch, the most difficult questions to answer, how your venture and team will be assessed, and how to maximize your chance of getting a second meeting. At the same time the discussion will help you think “beyond the pitch” so that you are best positioned to build a successful company or know when it’s time to pull the plug. You will get hands on training from a VC on constructing your story and a few lucky ventures may even get a critique of their deck.
