Description

Join the Central NY Conservancy for the Fall Walking Tour on the Parkway and learn about its monuments, its magnificent houses, historic neighborhoods, and gardens. There will also be a luncheon (limited to 40 people) prior to the walking tour with slide show to discuss the Parkway's seasonal plantings.

11:30 am Luncheon at the Conservancy's office at 1641 Genesee Street. Landscapers Cheryl and Peter Youngman will present a slide show about the Parkway's seasonal plantings and their work in Utica's Olmsted Parks. (Limited to 40 people and cost for lunch and tour is $22.00)

1:00 to 3:00 pm - Walking tour along the Parkway. Hamilton College Prof. Emeritus Rand Carter and architect Mike Lehman will lead the group and offer information and anecdotes about the Parkway's momuments, along with historical facts and insights about some of the neighborhood houses and gardens created by the Olmstead Bros. Firm. (Cost for walking tour is $10.00)

Note: Rain date will be Saturday, October 6th

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Parking will be available at the First Source Credit Union parking lot across the street from the Central NY Conservancy office located at 1634 Genesee Street or on-street parking is available on Derbyshire Place and Holland Avenue.
