The Legacy of West Coast Photography
Brian Taylor, Executive Director of the Center for Photographic Art, will present a lively, illustrated overview of the rich photographic history of the Monterey Peninsula. Join us when one of our most popular speakers leads us on another informative journey through the influential photography movement of our region, both historic and contemporary.
Brian was born in Tucson, Arizona. He received his B.A. Degree in Visual Arts from the University of California at San Diego, an M.A. from Stanford University, and his M.F.A. from the University of New Mexico.
Brian has taught photography as a Professor of Art and Art History at San Jose State University for over 35 years, where he recently served as Department Chair. Currently, Brian is the Executive Director of the Center for Photographic Art in Carmel.
Join us for a six-part lecture series about the diverse and wonderful art history of the Central Coast. Local experts will be featured in one-hour lectures about their chosen subjects. Visitors are welcome to bring food and drinks during this lunchtime lecture series.
