About this event

Fall outdoor experience.

Visit. Learn. Stroll. Win! RELAX.

Yoga is back! Allie returns from The Water and the Well.

Mmm, fresh lavender-laced country air. That's right. DEER HATE LAVENDER. Hey, home gardeners, plant lavender now for many years of spring-into-summer blooms to come.

Bring a loved one to make memories on the farm. Dress up with us! Farm inspired prizes will be randomly awarded to visitors who come in costume.

As summer has drifted to late summer, our thoughts turn to the fall garden.

It's true! Deer and bunnies do not eat lavender. When oily, fragrant herbs are planted about your gardens, those four-legged furry visitors tend to stay away. Since 2000, Sunshine Lavender Farm is the go-to resource for lavender and enthusiastically shares growing tips with southern home gardeners. Come to get your questions answered and our gardening tips and tricks based on over 20 years of growing experience!

Autumn is a beautiful time of year on the farm and we hope that you'll consider stopping by when we're open on Saturday, October 29 anytime between 10 am - 2 pm.

You'll need a ticket to visit.

  • Enjoy fun field-side demonstrations and Q & A with Farmer Dale.
  • Discover deer and bunny-proof lavender plants with the assistance of Farmer Annie. Learn how to create a garden for blooms throughout the lavender flowering season.
  • Register for a yoga class that fits your mood! Allie Doiron returns to the farm from The Water and the Well.
  • Dress up with us! Come in costume when you visit for a chance to win a prize.
  • Toss a picnic blanket in your vehicle and bring your lunch or a snack to enjoy while you're here. In Hillsborough, the farmer's co-op, Weaver Street Market is a fine place to grab and go a meal. Cup A Joe and Kim's Bake Shop are great places to nab coffee, tea and a savory or sweet bite to bring or to munch on your way to the farm.

There's an easy mowed trail for wandering and time to shop the farm's own Lavender Love Shop & Farm Market. In addition to the wide range of lavender plants ready for your garden, you'll also find the farm's line of soul-soothing handcrafted goods for the body, gifts, home and weddings too. Many items offered are unique to this event that you'll only find here!

You may also pre-order lavender plants by clicking here. Pick up on Saturday, October 29, or on a Wednesday afternoon once the plants are ready in October. We can also schedule another time convenient for you while the fall plant supply lasts.

Learn how to plant and care for lavender with your local lavender farmers, Dale & Annie Baggett. Bring your questions and get the answers specific to your garden needs and concerns. Get proven planting and care tips!

Learn about lavender and how to properly plant this pollinator attracting, sweetly scented herb in your garden. Farmer Dale will give you all of his tips based on years and years of hole-digging experience. Some say that the farm doubles as a comedy club! ; )

If you have a garden spot that gets at least 6 hours of sun, you will learn how to plant and grow with success. We will gather, discuss and troubleshoot so that you will have sweetly scented and soothing blooms in your garden. The farm will offer as many plants as possible and a wide assortment of varieties for bloom color and flowering time, size, scent, etc. Lavender especially appreciates starting out as a small seedling, then rooting in to get established in your garden. (From 4″ pots to 32″ in diameter in three short years to maturity for many varieties!) All plants will be well-rooted and ready for your garden.

Back by popular demand! Water and the Well with owner Allie Doiron. Join Allie for yoga on the farm! She's a registered dietitian, a registered yoga teacher and a certified personal trainer. Each yoga class will vary based on the time of day it is offered. Choose your fav - or two! Of course, there's a soothing lavender-y experience included with each session with time to chat up your wellness with Allie.

No pets, please.
