About this event

Questions about returning to school? Let us provide answers and support to you and your student as they return to class. Join us for informative and engaging short, specific sessions designed to meet parents and young adults with their “back to school” needs. Come find out more about MPACT, Missouri’s only Parent Training and Information Center, and how we can give you more tools to put in your backpack. The training allows you to choose three different, short (20 minute) sessions with topics that range from:

First Steps, Missouri’s Early Intervention system that provides services to families with children, birth to three years of age, with disabilities or developmental delays

Special Education processes, evaluation and parent participation

Youth focused sessions on self-advocacy and planning for high school and beyond

Presented in Spanish “10 Steps of Special Education” and “Assertive Communication”

To send in questions in advance: You are welcome to send in questions that may be answered in Question/Answer session by emailing them to info@missouriparentsact.org and using “Fall Conference Question” in the Subject Line.

Organizer Missouri Parents Act (MPACT)

Organizer of Fall Into Success

Missouri Parents Act (MPACT) is a non-profit that serves children with disabilities, their families, and communities throughout the state. MPACT has served as Missouri’s federally-funded Parent Training and Information Center since 1988.  MPACT also works in collaboration with, and receives funding from, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

MPACT is committed to excellence as we provide FREE services and assistance to parents, families, and youth. Our mission is to empower families to advocate for themselves so that children with special educational needs can reach their full potential in education and life - through support, training, and education. MPACT staff and volunteers are located throughout Missouri and work with public and private agencies, parent groups, professional organizations and advocacy groups to achieve that goal.
