Edible Campus UNC and the Center for Study of the American South present…

Harvest Moon Celebration - An Evening of Storytelling, Spoken Word, Song and Sweet Potatoes

When: October 5th, 6:30-8 p.m.

Where: The Forest Theatre, UNC-Chapel Hill

What: At our first Harvest Moon Celebration, we will hear the stories of inspiring local food leaders as we celebrate the vibrant food movement of the South and bring together the next generation of food activists at UNC Chapel Hill.

We encourage attendees to pack dinner and a blanket, and enjoy this evening with us under the light of the harvest full moon. Light snacks and refreshments featuring ingredients from the Edible Campus Garden will be provided by UNC’s student food organizations.

Visit our Facebook Page for event updates.

Event organized in partnership with Center for Study of the American South, Food For All, APPLES Service Learning, Residence Hall Association, and UNC’s Food and Justice Student Organizations

Edible Campus UNC is a program of the North Carolina Botanical Garden that creates working landscapes across the Carolina campus to facilitate student engagement in topics of food and agriculture sustainability. We currently maintain eleven garden beds across campus that incorporate edible, medicinal and pollinator friendly plants for public foraging. In Spring 2017 we added to our palette a 13,000 sq. foot production and education garden in the heart of campus, that will serve as a hub for the vibrant network of student-led food justice initiatives of the University.
