Explore DC's edible and medicinal plants with emphasis on respectful and sustainable harvesting
About this event
Join herbalist and forager Holly Poole-Kavana for an exploration of the edible and medicinal plants of fall. We'll focus on plants that are common throughout the city so participants will learn to recognize the plants they see regularly. We'll discuss identifying, harvesting, preparing, and using plants for food, flavor, and wellness support.
Due to the uncertain nature of the unfolding covid-19 delta variant, participants will be required to wear masks.
Tickets are based on a sliding scale-- please decide which ticket type is comfortable for you. For more information about sliding scale considerations please visit www.littleredbirdbotanicals.com/consultation-fees but please note that the fees listed here are for herbal consultations, not for this plant walk! I'm providing the link for those who are curious about this model. Free tickets are reserved for people who can not reasonably afford to pay, e.g. fixed income seniors, houseless community members, returning citizens, people who are unable to find work due to life circumstances, etc. If you are low-income by choice or have family economic privilege please choose a paid ticket.
