Violeta Petrova

Internationally acclaimed concert pianist and professor Violeta Petrova has been transforming audiences with the incredible expression and sound she brings to her music for 65 years, ever since she was a young girl growing up in her native Bulgaria. She has been performing as a soloist as well as in collaboration with other musicians from all over the world. Her performing career has extended throughout Europe, Asia and the United States. Violeta also has done numerous recordings for the Finnish and Bulgarian National Radio Networks.

Between 1987 and 2013 Violeta lived in Helsinki, Finland, where she was a piano professor on the faculty of Sibelius Academy and the Helsinki Conservatory for over 25 years. During that time she was frequently a visiting professor at Chugye University for the Arts in Seoul, South Korea. Violeta was also invited to the University of Minnesota in Duluth for one semester to lend her level of expertise to the Music Department. Violeta leads piano Master Courses in Bulgaria, Finland, Greece, South Korea and the United States.

Violeta has participated as a jury member for many international piano competitions and also has been active with numerous charity projects worldwide. In January 2014, she relocated to California, ready for a new chapter in her successful piano career and to be close to her family. Violeta is an active member of the Rotary Club of Carlsbad and has been recognized with the Paul Harris Award given by Rotary International. Violeta has established a very loyal following throughout Southern California and is continuously performing.

The Rotary Club of Carlsbad is a leadership organization made up of local business professionals and civic leaders. We provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders. Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change - across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.

We are proud of the philanthropic work that we do locally in Carlsbad, and we are fortunate to very active members involved in international projects in Mexico, South America and South Africa. The proceeds from this performance this year will go to support for the senior citizens in Carlsbad, reading/literacy and mentoring programs for Carlsbad youth, and support for the marines on Camp Pendleton (in partnership with our satellite club.)

In 2018, our club received the Best Club in the District Award (mid-sized category)! Come join us and find out why.
