Event description

Description

Walk with a Native Plant Master along easy trails. We will search for signs of plants, trees, & shrubs getting ready for winter and discuss their historical uses by natives, settlers, & wildlife.

Native Plant Masters are certified experts in Colorado's native flora. They are volunteers with a passion for plants and have received special training from Colorado State University Extension who then share that knowledge with the others. Join us for a walk through the wealth of native wildflowers, grasses, trees, and shrubs that Jefferson County has to offer.

Program Details:
Adults and youth ages 13 yrs+

You will meet the educator at the trailhead kiosk of the main parking lot of Meyer Ranch Park.

The hike will take place on easy trails with frequent stops to see what is in bloom! The hike will be on Owl's Perch & Lodgepole loop, just under 2 miles.

Wear sturdy hiking shoes, dress for the weather, and bring water, snacks, sunscreen, etc. as needed. If taking notes, bring paper & pencil.
