Event description

Description

English teachers (8th and 9th) are hosting live face-to-face workshops this fall to help students with writing skills in response to essay and discussion questions on quizzes and tests for English and provide strategies for completing portfolio or essay assignments that require using evidence from the text. This session will include the RACES method to help students find and use evidence in their writing, as well as strategies for close reading and annotating texts. SCCA will provide paper, folders, and writing utensils, etc., but students are welcome to bring their own.

These workshops are open to all SCCA eighth and ninth grade students. The duration of the workshop is around 2 hours. Parents are welcome to arrive 15 minutes before the workshop begins to sign-in students and leave or stay and attend as space is available. Teachers will provide a handout for students to share with parents/caretakers. Teachers look forward to seeing students. Please contact the English teacher if you have any questions.
