Executive Director Retreat: How to be a Successful Executive Director
November 20-22, 2019
Century House, Latham NY

Overview:
Participants will be introduced, through practical application, to master the diverse skills that are necessary to achieve success in their current role. Led by a multi-disciplinary team of experienced instructors, this retreat emphasizes real-world elements of nonprofit executive leadership, management and problem-solving.

The training will include invaluable, individual consultations with NYCON’s experienced team of industry veterans while simultaneously providing various workshops in a group setting. In this format, executives will be able to address both individual issues within their own organization as well as converse with other executive staff regarding their shared experiences and issues.

Attendees will discuss a variety of topics including:

  • Role of the Executive Director
  • Executive Director relationship with the Board of Directors
  • Nonprofit Accounting and Fiscal Accountability
  • Effective Marketing & Messaging Strategies
  • Legal Accountability & Compliance
  • Grant Writing & other Fund Development Techniques

  • Please note: This event is designed for "new" Executive Directors only.
    After your general registration you will be asked to submit an additional "application" verifying a) you are currently an Executive Director and b) you have less than five (5) years experience in that role. (NYCON will send you a link to that online form after registration.)
  • You will also be asked to submit certain organizational documents so that our trainers can learn more about your mission, corporate structure, and organizational culture.
  • Please consider yourself accepted into the class upon submission of your registration 'application' and your payment, unless otherwise notified.
  • Class size is limited to 20 participants in order to facilitate one-on-one dialogue and individual consult

    Refunds & Cancellations: Cancellations must be received in writing prior to October 21, 2019. All cancellations will be subject to a $100 processing fee for each cancelled registration. No refunds will be given for cancellations received after 10/20/2019. All payments must be received by October 21, 2019 to ensure access to retreat. If you are unable to attend, and have indicated in your registration to include a room, payment must be received.
