We are excited to invite you and representatives from your organization to the semi-annual Employing U.S. Vets Conference on October 25, 2019 at the New York Athletic Club. The event – co-hosted by VETS Indexes and the Military Times – will include discussions of best practices and challenges related to veteran employment, recognition of companies going above and beyond for vets and their families and lots of opportunities to network.

More members and veterans of our military than ever are transitioning from the military and seeking civilian careers. There are about 27 million people in the military-connected community, including active duty personnel, reservists, military families and veterans. This vast talent pool represents significant opportunities for organizations looking to hire qualified and hard-working employees and has become an integral segment of the Human Capital portion of the Social pillar within Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG). But to take advantage, companies need to know their stuff.

This one-day, semi-annual event features dynamic speakers and panel discussions with nationally recognized employers distinguished for strong track records in veterans’ employment. Military Times reporters and editors will help lead the discussions. Our experts will explore cutting-edge topics such as:

What is the Dress Code for the event?

The dress code for this event is Business Attire. Additionally, the NYAC has their own minimum standard for attire: New York Athletic Club Dress Code

  • Men: Jackets are optional. Slacks, a collared shirt and dress shoes are permitted. Jeans, T-shirts and Sneakers remain prohibited.
  • Women: Relaxed, comparable attire (skirt or slacks with blouse). Jeans, T-shirts, Leggings and Sneakers remain prohibited

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No - if you have registered, we will be expecting you

The name on the ticket doesn't match the attendee - is that okay?

No worries - we allow transfers


Is there a room block reserved for hotel rooms for this event?

No - The NYC hotels have become very rigid on room blocks and in some cases now require full prepayment with No Cancellation Policies at rates that are not very discounted (in some cases as little as 5% - 10%).

At our last event at this venue (The NYAC) in late November, everyone agreed that the online services (Kayak, Hotwire, Expedia, etc..) were far better than the room block terms that we had provided – therefore, we are going that route in the future and encourage you to use the online platforms as they appear to provide the most flexibility at the best rates. We do encourage our delegates to obviously book as early as possible.
