Do you have an idea that will make meaningful change in your community? Apply for a Neighborhood Project Grant of up to $500 to help make it happen!
Orange is full of talented people with exciting ideas about how to make the city a better place. HANDS, The HUUB, and ValleyArts are supporting resident-led projects that impact the Heart of Orange or Valley Arts District neighborhoods and their residents. Successfull projects will build community, cultivate neighborhood leadership, expand activities for youth, promote wellness and health and/or to more generally celebrate the diversity of people living in this city.
If you have questions or are interested in applying, you can receive application assistance at these Information and Help Workshops. They will be held at The HUUB and ValleyArts throughout the month of September. Please RSVP if you are interested in attending!
Here are some potential project ideas:

Youth Activities and Leadership - Mentoring, tutoring, arts classes, music lessons, sports teams, drama club, dance teams

Economic Development - Skills training workshops or classes, food or tool co-op, revolving loan program

Neighborhood Beautification - Murals, community gardens, art installations, lot clean-ups

Celebrating Culture & Diversity - Street fairs, music festivals, art shows, traditional celebrations

Health & Safety - Block associations, exercise groups, dinner with a police officer, walking school bus
WE WANT TO:

Increase resident engagement and leadership to improve the Orange’s quality of life;

Help cultivate resident-led projects that address pressing neighborhood issues;

Provide resources to support leadership development for youth and adults;
-
Support strong relationships among residents, grassroots groups, anchor institutions, and community assets working to improve Orange.
