FaithTech Waterloo - Create 12 Demo Night
Overview
What if building technology wasn’t just about efficiency, profit, and scale, but about transforming your city?
FaithTech Create 12 is a 12-week, in-person experience where developers, designers, and product thinkers have come together to eat, learn, and build. Together, we’ve wrestled with what it means to follow Jesus in our work while creating technology that advances the Kingdom of God.
Now it's time to celebrate!
Join us on Nov. 20 as we eat, learn, and celebrate what has been happening in the Waterloo community through the FaithTech Create program.
Eat: Get to know others in the FaithTech Waterloo community as we share a meal.
Learn: Hear a talk about a redemptive understanding of technology from FaithTech Founder & CEO, James Kelly.
Celebrate: Hear the stories of the four projects being built as part of the Create 12 program in Waterloo. Teams will share what they’ve come up with, what they hope to achieve, and opportunities to get involved with what’s next.
The Teams:
- Leadership Burnout - Pastors and leaders are burning out at alarming rates. How might we strengthen and sustain leaders in health, resilience, and calling?
- Effective Discipleship - New believers often drift away because churches don’t have clear ways to walk with them into lifelong discipleship. How might we create relational, sustainable pathways for growth?
- Searching4Hope - An existing FaithTech project has bought and redeemed the worst domain names and filled them with redemptive content, to find people at their point of need. How might we build this in a way that leverages AI to automate the finding, procuring and production of these websites so that we can find more people in desperate need of the hope Jesus brings?
- Unreached People in KW - There are unreached people groups right here in our city. They often come without the ability to communicate easily, feeling culturally isolated, and often remain alone and unheard. How might we leverage technology to identify, find and share the message of the gospel with these communities, families and people?
