Event Details

James D Gordon IIIThe BYU Graduate Student Society warmly welcomes James D. Gordon III to speak at the 2015 Faith and Scholarship Symposium.  This will be a formal dinner for graduate students and their adult guest.  Come in business casual attire.

The Graduate Student Society has the pleasure of hosting the Faith and Scholarship Symposium on Thursday, February 19. This is an annual event that allows for the discussion of scholarship through the lens of faith, and BYU has a unique viewpoint on this subject. The keynote speaker will be James D Gordon III, and dinner will be served.  This is an event for all graduate students, who may bring a spouse or other adult guest (no children please).  The Symposium will begin at  7:00 pm  in the WSC Ballroom.

This is a high-demand event with a limited amount of seats so we need an accurate RSVP count.  If you would like to attend, please RSVP through the link below. You will need to print out the confirmation it gives you and bring it to the Symposium.  If for some reason you won't be able to attend after submitting your RSVP, please email us at as soon as possible.  We will have an extensive wait list of people who would like to attend in your place.

All BYU graduate students are members of the BYU Graduate Student Society ("GSS"), a university-wide organization that operates in conjunction with department organizations. From its beginning, the GSS has been a student-driven organization focused on meeting the needs and interests of BYU graduate students. The GSS presidency and council serve approximately 3,000 graduate students in over 50 departments (96 different programs). The GSS presidency works directly with the dean of Graduate Studies to represent graduate students to the university administration. The BYU GSS Council, which includes a representative from many departments at the university, meets regularly to discuss the needs of the graduate student body and to make recommendations to the administration. In addition to representation, the GSS presidency and council serve to enrich, enhance, and encourage the BYU graduate student experience.
