Join Bay Area Faith Leaders for a day of  health education about the impact of cancer on men, family and the African American community. This event is free & open to the public. Continental breakfast and lunch and onsite health screenings included. Advanced registration/RSVP highly recommended and appreciated. Knowledge is the Best Defense Against Cancer.

  • 1 in 2 Men are diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime

  • 1 in 6 African American men will develop prostate cancer

  • Mortality rate for prostate cancer is 2.4 times higher for African American men

  • Late detection of prostate cancer has been linked to higher mortality rates

Symposium will focus on:

  • General health information for men
  • Cancer prevention, research and treatment
  • Men newly diagnosed with prostate cancer
  • Prostate cancer survivors and warriors
  • Recurring and advanced prostate cancer
  • Caregivers (wives, children and other loved ones)

Onsite health screenings will be available at no cost to participants.
