Description

The God Squad

Faith, Food, Friday - featuring "The God Squad" - is a project of The Village Square, devoted to building community across divides.

In keeping with the spirit of April Fool’s Day (albeit just a smidge late) and in celebration of the last program in our fifth “Faith, Food, Friday” season, we thought we’d just throw the topic up in the air.  Who knows what we'll talk about.

Facilitating the conversation is Reverend Josh Hall.

Faith, Food, Friday is $8 if you register through the Tuesday ahead of each program ($10 after) and free if you’d like to bring your own lunch with you. We offer online payment as a courtesy so you don't have to stop at the door but note that there is an additional fee when paying online.

MENU:

Macaroni and cheese
Fried okra
Steamed cabbage
Field peas
Corn muffin
Dessert

The God Squad

Meet the God Squad, the brains behind our series “Faith, Food, Friday: Improbable conversations for people of faith and no faith at all (because talking politics wasn’t hard enough). Whoever you are, whatever your beliefs, bring an open mind, an open heart (and an empty stomach) for a continuing conversation that makes it safe to bring your beliefs to the public square - just as you are. We hope you'll join us as we explore what happens when people of good will who might disagree cross each others' thresholds and break a little bread together.

From left to right: Rev. Josh Hall, First Baptist Church; Father Tim Holeda, Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More; Pastor Darrick McGhee of Bible Based Church; Betsy Ouillete Zierden of Good Samaritan United Methodist Church and Rabbi Jack Romberg of Temple Israel Tallahassee.

Directions:  Enter First Baptist Church (108 W. College Avenue) from either main Adams Street or main Duval Street entrance.  Go downstairs and you will see the check-in table in front of the Fellowship Hall. If you're early, you might need to ask to be buzzed in.

Parking Directions: Parking available in the metered spaces on Park Avenue or Adams or at Kleman Plaza (there is a fee).  A few spots are available in the First Baptist lot off of Duval Street. Please do not park in the covered First Baptist parking garage off Duval, those spaces are reserved.
