In honor of its 150th Anniversary of service to the Church and new vision for the future, Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary (JCSTS) is hosting its inaugural Faith and Initiative Conference, November 9-11, 2017, at The Lodge at Peachtree Presbyterian Church, 3417 Roswell Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30305.

The conference seeks to connect educators, scholars, clergy, disruptors, investors, and social entrepreneurs to explore the intersectionality of faith and innovation. Participants will learn from each other, exchange ideas, and explore ways to initiate change for the greater good.

Speakers include Stephen Lewis, President of the Forum for Theological Exploration; Dr. Ralph C. Watkins, The Peachtree Associate Professor of Evangelism and Church Growth at Columbia Seminary; Melinda Weekes-Laidlow, President of Weekes In Advance Enterprises; Dr. Tod Bolsinger, Vice President for Vocation and Formation and Assistant Professor of Practical Theology at Fuller Seminary; Rev. Jessica Tate, Director of NEXT Church; and Sam Eaton, founder of Recklessly Alive Ministries.

Join leaders from various denominational, regional, vocational backgrounds in this movement creating additional pathways to ministerial preparation, leadership development, and community formation.

Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary is one of twelve theological institutions of the Presbyterian Church USA, and the only one that is historically African American. As JCSTS celebrates 150 years of service, the seminary is working to develop educational models focusing on innovation and providing affordable theological education rooted in the intersectionality of faith and justice.
