When will I receive my lineup spot number and location?

Accepted Answer

We will work out the lineup spot numbers by the evening of Thursday, December 11 .  As soon as the lineup is completed, we will post it on our "Fairmont Christmas Parade and Blessing of the First Responders" Facebook page.  A map of the lineup spot layout will be posted the evening before the parade

What if the weather is nasty on parade day?

Accepted Answer

We are a "rain or shine" event and would only cancel the parade and blessing in the event of serious safety concern.  There is NO alternate date, so if we cancel, there would be no parade and blessing this year.  In the highly unlikely event that we cancel, we will post on the parade Facebook page.

Question 3

What is the Santa/Mrs. Claus policy?

Accepted Answer

Santa (and Mrs. Claus if she has free time between cookie batches) will be in the Fairmont Fire Department's Ladder 47 truck, so no live, costumed imposters, please!

Question 4

What about candy?

Accepted Answer

If your feet are literally on the ground when you give it out, you can hand it directly to spectators if you want.  Otherwise, candy must be carefully thrown well outside of the entry vehicles' path.  We just don't want anyone darting into parade traffic and risk getting hit to grab the candy.

What are my transportation/parking options for lineup?

Accepted Answer

Parking is NOT available at the top, bottom, or in the parade lineup for vehicles not actually in the parade.  We will include common options in your confirmation ticket and in a post on our "Fairmont Christmas Parade and Blessing of the First Responders" Facebook page.

Should I register multiple vehicle entries separately?

Accepted Answer

A truck with a float or trailer, walking groups, and most ATV/motorcycle groups count as a single entry.  But if your group has multiple, other types of vehicles, do a separate entry for each vehicle.  Call/text Marci at (304) 612-5151 if you have questions.

Entering a group?

Accepted Answer

1)Please make sure your group doesn't accidentally sign up multiple times. 2) Let your group know your spot number - or at least the title of your entry and your group's lineup time.  3)The e-mail and telephone number(s) provided in the registration will be used as the contact point for the entry.

Question 8

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter?

Accepted Answer

There are no ID requirements, but the person completing the registration and responsible for the entry must be at least 18 years old.  Participants may be any age as long as a responsible adult is in charge and present with the entry all during lineup and the parade route.

Question 9

Can I update my registration information or cancel my entry?

Accepted Answer

Yes, please!  If your registration information changes, please sign in to your Eventbrite account and update it ASAP.  We take multiple factors into account when we design and mark the lineup.  If you need to cancel your registration, just log into your account and request a "refund."

Question 10

Can I give my spot to someone else?

Accepted Answer

No.  We take several factors into account when we design and mark the lineup.  That information (and the entry title) needs to match who shows up at the parade.  If you know someone who wants to enter the parade, just tell them to do their own self-registration on Eventbrite.com.

Question 11

Do I have to print and bring my ticket to the parade lineup?

Accepted Answer

No.  The information you need to be able to tell our staff at lineup is the title of your entry and/or your spot number.

Question 12

What is the Blessing of the First Responders and how does it affect our entry?

Accepted Answer

The Blessing  doesn't affect non-first responder entries.  It has been a part of the Fairmont Christmas Parade since 2014.  The Blessing honors and thanks our first responders for their service to and sacrifice for our communities and to pray for their safety in the coming year.

If you need help registering, editing your entry registration, cancelling your entry, or have questions, call/text Marci Carroll at (304) 612-5151 or email Marci at fairmontchristmasparade@mrcfamilylaw.com.  Availability/responsiveness will become limited the closer it gets to parade start time.
