Housing owners, property managers, nonprofit transitional housing and shelter managers, members of condo and homeowner association boards, housing authority staff, renters, housing advocates – whatever your role, you must be familiar with the federal Fair Housing Act as well as state and local fair housing laws. This knowledge is critical to prevent costly violations and it also promotes good business practices. Workshop participants receive extensive free fair housing materials.

The Fair Housing Workshop "Fair Housing Basics: Removing Barriers to Housing Equity" is a powerpoint presentation designed to help housing providers be proactive - to prevent violations of the fair housing laws before they occur.

  • Familial status issues, occupancy guidelines and housing for older persons

  • Renting to people with disabilities--reasonable accommodations and modifications issues

  • Issues involving sexual orientation, gender identity, Section 8, and veterans/military
