Event Details

Welcome (Failte) to the second annual Failte Festival!

Three days, four shows of Irish music and dancing, Thursday March 15 through Sunday March 17 at the Charles A. Brown Ice House in Bethlehem!

This year, the festival encompasses the entire St. Patrick’s weekend, a proper “trad fest” showcasing Irish music, dancers, and a champion bagpiper. There is something for everyone who has Celtic roots and loves Celtic culture (or becomes Irish around the 17th of March)!

There are a total of four exciting shows at this year’s festival. The doors will open one hour before each show, with beer, wine, soda, and light snacks available for purchase. Tickets are available online through Eventbrite or in-store at Donegal Square.

Our Special Guests (for full performer bios, click here):

Timlin & Kane have been playing for audiences throughout the East Coast and beyond for over 38 years. You’ve enjoyed their musical talents and irreverent humor at Celtic Classic and Gerry is a favorite at McCarthy’s Red Stag Pub. Gerry and Neville also co-host our annual tour of Ireland!

Robert Watt is a world champion piper who plays the Great Highland Bagpipe, as well as a range of Irish whistles and the bellows blown Lowland and Border Pipes.  He has amassed many piping awards and is a sought-after teacher. When not on the road performing and teaching he enjoys living in Austria on ‘The Green Hills of Tyrol’.

Seamus Kennedy really requires no introduction. Every year, he comes to Musikfest and Celtic Classic and makes us laugh, sing and forget our cares for a while. He is known for daft ditties, children’s songs, and tongue twisters; you can’t help but sing along!

Alison Gillespie has been performing and teaching Celtic fiddle and classical violin for over thirty years.  She performs currently with Celtic groups Blackwater and Banna Lach (among others) and directs the Moravian College Celtic Ensemble.  Alison is also the founder of the long-running Celtic Classic Fiddle Competition.

Joanna Mell has been playing and singing Celtic music since the age of 4. Talented in many instruments, she discovered the harp in 1985. Joanna is a frequest performer at workshops and festivals and has been a therapeutic harpist for hospice organizations and hospitals for 25 years.

Rogue Diplomats are based in both New York City and Bethlehem, PA.  The “Rogues” are a Musikfest and Celtic Classic favorite, and pack McCarthy’s Red Stag Pub when they are in town! Their audiences sing along to their melodies, jigs and shanties, all delivered in close harmony and with charmingly irreverent humor.

O’Grady Quinlan Academy of Irish Dance has offered world class Irish Dance training and instruction for more than 20 years. The OGQ dancers participate in parades, competitions, and public performances throughout the year, in the Lehigh Valley and beyond.
