Did you know that in Granite Falls MN there is a company that makes planes? Not just any plane, but P-40 Warhawks, the premier fighters of WWII. The twist is that they don’t just restore old planes; they also make them from ground up. We’ll check out the shop. Since it’s a 2.5 hour drive we’ve enlisted the help of Dave Barton and his restored Bluebird bus, painted like a 1958 Pontiac Chieftain station wagon. First 20 people to register can ride the bus but you may drive yourself. We’ll grab breakfast at 7:00 am at the Perkins in Hopkins before leaving, then head out on the bus at 8:00 am. The tour takes place at the Grantite Falls Muni /Lenzen-Roe Memorial Field which is just south of their shop: go south on 540th St then turn left on Airport Rd.
