Advances in Root Canal Preparation


Course Summary: Over the past several years, a variety of novel instruments have been introduced in endodontics with the goal of simplifying canal preparation using fewer instruments. Other systems have been developed to address the deficiencies of current instruments and irrigation protocols to clean and shape the intricacies found in root canal system such as webs, fins, and anastomoses. This presentation will highlight these new systems. 


Course PresenterDr. Jordan Schweitzer

Dr. Jordan Schweitzer graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1986. He earned his Master’s Degree and certificate in endodontics from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1989. Jordan was in solo private practice limited to endodontics from 1990 to 2006 prior to coming to Texas A&M to serve as director of predoctoral endodontics. He is active at both the predoctoral and postdoctoral levels. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and recipient of the 2015 Edward M. Osetek Educator Award.

 Course Objectives:

At the conclusion of this presentation the provider will be able to:

1. Describe the objectives of root canal preparation in endodontic therapy.

2. Outline specific shaping and irrigation goals clinicians should consider when performing endodontic treatment.

3. Compare different types of canal preparation instruments available in the marketplace

4. Compare recently introduced irrigation systems

A $50 fee will be assessed for any course  cancellation.  All payments by check or cash are deposited into the Texas A&M account  and CANNOT be refunded. “No Shows” for a course  forfeit all tuition. Confirm notification of cancellation by e-mail.The CE Office cannot be held responsible for a  non-refundable airline ticket.
